Originally self published by Ray Stevenson, one of the most important documenters of the UK Punk scene in 1977, as the Sex Pistols Scrapbook (also listed on this site) it was withdrawn due to threatened legal action by McLaren’s Glitterbest & Virgin due to the cover artwork being too obviously derived from Jamie Reid’s album artwork for Never Mind the Bollocks. From the original printing, “No thanks to : Greedy Publishers, Ignorant Distributors, Bigoted News Agents, Malcolm“. It was republished by Omnibus Press in 1978 as File instead of Scrapbook, adding all the ugly demise of Sid Vicious and continued to undergo several revised editions over the next few years. One of the earliest and still regarded as one of the best Sex Pistols books of the period.
