Edie Massey 1979 O.N Klub Sunset Blvd, L.A. gig flyer

£100.00

Gig flyer for Edie Massey and her all female punk-exploitation band, who were also billed as Edie & and the Eggs or Miss Edie & the Incredible Edible Eggs.

The band’s name related to Massey’s role of the Egg Lady in John Water’s classic Pink Flamingoes.

John Waters approached local Baltimore guitarist Ann Collier with the idea. She drafted in drummer Gina Schock (later Go-Go’s) Suzan Wirth (bass) as the rhythm section.

Following New York gigs, including Max’s Kansas City & CBGBs the band was approached to come to LA for sold-out dates at the Nuart Theatre on Santa Monica BLVD in November 1978 and this show which I presume is March 1979.

Later they records a one off single, released in  1982,  which can be found here. Edith Massey ‎– Big Girls Don’t Cry / Punks, Get Off The Grass 7″ inch Picture Disc 45rpm : John Waters interest
