Description
Born Matilda Alice Powles (13 May 1864 – 16 September 1952), she performed as Vesta Tilley, best known of the male impersonators (drag) , alongside Hetty King, Ella Shields, Peggy Maude etc… At the height of her career she was the highest paid woman in Britain and toured the USA 6 times. This song sheet for Midnight Son ©1897 hails from her hey day as a music hall singer.
Condition : This has been removed from a album of sheet music and show signs of the paste along the spine. The original stitching is intact but the front cover is almost separated. Overall not bad given it’s age.
