The Quiet American 1958 UK Quad Poster

£150.00

Wherever he walked All Hell Broke Loose …..adapted from the 1955 Graham Greene novel…however, the original 1958 Hollyweird version inverted the theme of the novel, turning it into an anti-communist tale instead of a cautionary story about US interventionism.

The novel implicitly questions the foundations of growing American involvement in Vietnam in the 1950s, exploring the subject through links among its three main characters – Fowler, Pyle and Phuong. The novel has received much attention due to its prediction of the outcome of the Vietnam War and subsequent American foreign policy since the 1950s.

Directed Joseph L. Mankiewicz known for his massive hit The Philadelphia Story (1940) starring Cary Grant , Katherine Hepburn and James Stewart. Starring Michael Redgrave, Audie Murphy,  and Claude Dauphin
