Description
Here’s a piece of Swing London ephemera that’s not been seen -in full- before ? ! ( a cut down version, without the Gallery section at the top- appears in the reprint of Mile’s In the Sixties).
Original invites for the late 1965 opening of the Indica Gallery & Bookshop, London. Apparently the whole of Mason’s Yard was filled with “everyone” who was anyone in Swinging London from the Beatles to Marc Bolan…
Please note these are silk screened on PVC : according to gallery owner, John Dunbar, shower curtains bought in Paris. The gallery specialised in kinetic art and the idea was that these would echo that and “slither” out of the envelopes….Each measures approx 14″ x4″ – 36cm x 10cm but are hand cut so each varies.
Condition : These are shown and sent on white card back boards with clear cellophane wraps. They are all in the original condition -The blue one has some yellow blotches on it. Provenance : John Dunbar.
