For sale : 1846. First edition, second state determined by advert on page 175 – “New Edition of Oliver Twist.” Published 20th Dec 1845 and immediately reprinted.  Printed by Bradbury & Evans, London: Condition : VG+  Cover : while it retains the deep red colour , the clothe is wrinkled -cocked spine – no spliting.  see photo with no evidence of damp. Inside : little to no foxing, no staining.  Previous owner’s inscription on black fly ” From to Sarah to Peter present”. Otherwise no significant faults. A presentable  book, especially  for its age and popularity.

For Sale  : VG++ New edition 1886 : Again given the age and popularity : Covers bright and not too marked, minor discolouring in places but no staining or damp. Interior clean, no inscriptions, no significant foxing – very discolouration on advertising fly – see gallery photos ( with orange badge).

Both have frontispiece and title page by Daniel Maclise, and illustrations by Doyle Leech.
