Following the publication of the 1949 “Golden Dreams” pose by Tom Kelley of Marilyn Monroe in the first issue of Playboy the image went “viral”.
Another pose from the same session titled, The New Wrinkle, also ‘leaked” into the media and was produced as both licensed and unofficial calendars and decks of cards : search Golden Dreams for more examples on this webite, including the original 1952 salesmen’s pack.
Most of the unofficial products were produced from 1954-57. These decks of cards were widely advertised in the back of Playboy and other Men’s magazines of the period and given the quality photographic reproduction are assumed official.
