Marilyn Monroe 1954/55 Double Deck of Playing cards : Golden Dreams & New Wrinkle

Following the publication of the 1949 “Golden Dreams” pose by Tom Kelley of Marilyn Monroe in the first issue of Playboy the image went “viral”.

Another pose from the same session titled, The New Wrinkle, also ‘leaked” into the media and was produced as both licensed and unofficial calendars and decks of cards : search Golden Dreams for more examples on this webite, including the original 1952 salesmen’s pack.

Most of the unofficial products were produced from 1954-57. These decks of cards were widely advertised in the back of Playboy and other Men’s magazines of the period and given the quality photographic reproduction are assumed official.

Condition : 2 decks of cards, each with two Jokers. 1 deck with Golden Dreams and 1 set with The New Wrinkle on the reverse. None of the cardeds appear to have been used : No creases, no bends etc. Minor ageing to some faces, otherwise clean and unused. Each come in the original black box, with a velveteen outbox with the The New Wrinkle in gold.  See photos.
