Description
This was the shop where, shortly after arriving in London, Hendrix bought his cobbler, including his famous Fusilier’s jacket.
The first shop was opened by Ian Fisk, John Paul and later joined by Robert Orbach in 1965 at 293 Portobello Road at the ‘top end’ of the market. Further shops followed on Wardour street and off Carnaby St on Foubert’s Place,…. with two more outlets later on Carnaby Street itself and later Piccadilly Circus and The King’s Road.Moving away from it’s original ex-military stock , the chain churned out Swinging London merchandise, ashtrays, aprons, poster, tea tins etc….
As new : 71/2 ” x 53/4″ 19.5cm x14.5cm approx : Card hanging sign with original thread : as new, black back.
