Hunter S. Thompson, Hell's Angels 1967 Random House.

£165.00£475.00

Gonzo writer and journalist Hunter S. Thompson’s “strange and terrible saga” of life on the road with motorcycle outlaw gang Hell’s Angels.

“… Wearing the winged death’s-head on the back of their sleeveless jackets and packing their ‘mamas’ behind them on ‘big chopped hogs’. They ride with a fine, unwashed arrogance, secure in their reputation as the rottenest motorcycle gang in the whole of Christendom.”

There were 4 printings of the first edition. The first printing is clearly stated on the credit page, as are the subsequent editions. In addition, on the inside of the dust jacket flap is printed 1/67 – for the first , 4/67 for the fourth etc…

There was also a Book Club edition – which is easily identified by the red stain along the top – the first has black. Again it’s easy to check that the correct DJ is present by checking the inside flap – which in this case clearly state Book Club.
