Edward Lear first published this title in 1846 – the earliest editions are impossible to find. Here are a selection of early editions, in various condition. Needless to say Lear’s work has survived through many generations – and was massive influence on John Lennon’s own nonsense works : In His Own Write and Spaniard in The Works.
