Description

1948 Set A of Guinness 6 Postcard : complete wit the envelope.

  “The Guinness Alice” adverts began in 1933  and some were eventually produced as posters  and eventually these postcard sets – of which this is set ‘A’ .

Titles : Alice Studies Natural History, Mushroom Growth, Why was the Hatter Mad?, Bottle & Jug, My Mother Said and Bottle Royal) ; The posters were reworkings of John Tenniel’s original Alice illustrations  by  Antony Groves-Raines, Eric Fraser and John Gilroy….and others.

Condition: The 6 cards are all near fine = postally unused : Clean and bright, no creases, no discolouration. The only minor flaws that stops them being ‘mint’  are two “micro” corner bumps on the bottom right corner of two cards. The envelope is VG, minor split down one side from being opened and edge wear but the no significant tears on the front or back – displays well.
