Description
Original UK Quad film poster for this 50s crime noir, courtroom drama.
“Highly respected defense attorney Dwight Bradley Mason (Walter Pidgeon) is able to clear young Rudi Wallchek (Keefe Brasselle) of a murder rap. When it’s all over, however, Rudi lets slip a careless comment which leads Mason to believe that his client was guilty after all.” – Rotten Tomatoes
Directed by Richard Thorpe. Starring Walter Pidgeon, Ann Harding and Barry Sullivan.
While the film was a b&w B-movie, the poster is in glorious 1950s colour. The poster is part of a large stash of United Artists posters stored in the shop basement since 1967.
Undisplayed : large corner cut : hence price -no pin holes, no significant creases, no fading – especially in the red !
Quad Poster (quadruple crown) measures 30 x 40 inches (approx 76cm x 101.5cm), They are usually landscape in design, opposed to US One sheets that are portrait. They were not for sale to the public and were distributed to cinemas for display – usually folded not rolled. They were supposed to be returned to the distributor, who destroyed them hence their rarity. Any in circulation were either given away to cinema goers after the film run or collected and sold on instead of being destroyed.
