Description
As scarce earlySkiffle, Jazz window card for the Aldershot Hippodrome featuring Ken Coyler performing a jazz set followed by a skiffle set. Without Cyler, no Lonnie Donegan, without Lonnie, No Beatles….
Anyone unaware of his importance to British music should read Peter Frame The Restless Generation : How Rock Music Changed the Face of 1950s Britain.
Given the date, Sunday 11th March – this is most likely 1956, given that the earliest British Skiffle recordings were in 1954 by Coyler for Decca (as mentioned on the card).
Condition : VG+ No significant tears or pinholes, the original hanging tag in tact. Zoom into photo
