Robert Fraser’s Groovy Arts Club Band Limited Edition Double Vinyl
This limited edition double LP was produced in conjunction with the exhibition dedicated to Robert Fraser at the Gazelli Art Gallery in London in 2019. David G.A. Stephenson dropped some records at the shop….that were otherwise exclusive to the show.
The show reunited thirteen artists who Fraser championed/ represented : Clive Barker, Peter Blake, Derek Boshier, Brian Clarke, Jim Dine, Jean Dubuffet, Richard Hamilton, Keith Haring, Jann Haworth, Bridget Riley, Ed Ruscha and Colin Self.
From Gazelli press release : The 14 songs “all in tribute to Fraser, a.k.a. Groovy Bob,The album is written, performed and produced by David G.A. Stephenson and Josh Stapleton who have collaborated with Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club along with Richard Bell of Blue Aeroplanes and Scalaland. The gatefold sleeve of the special edition vinyl is created by Derek Boshier who also helped in producing the artwork for David Bowie’s albums Lodger and Let’s Dance.
