This scarce poster comes from the Factory Records US archive.
Part of a series of “dot” pictures by conceptual artist Joe Baldessari, in which dots were applied to appropriated photographs of people more than often over peoples faces, “I just got so tired of looking at these faces,” said Baldessari in one interview. The dots were in fact prices stickers, the type used in galleries.
Condition : Near Mint. The poster has been stored rolled so, the photo has been taken behind plastic hence the distortions.
We are very aware, from the volume of “price fishing” emails we received that this poster recently came up for auction on invalubale.com. With 33% buyers premium it fetched exactly the same as the one sold at Sotheby’s approx $1600/ £1200.00.
