Isle of Wight 1970 Programme: Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Who, Sly & The Family Stone, Spirit, Leonard Cohen , Mile Davis, Kaleidoscope (As I Luv Wight), Procul Harum, Family,

1970 , the year of the Festival .  Having stage Dylan’s live comeback the previous year, the IOW festival organisers booked an all star line up in 1970 : Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Who and many others…. including the UK band Kaleidoscope. Following two Lps on Fontana, they’d changed their name to Fairfield Parlour for one LP on the Vertigo  label. Their next outing was as “I Luv Wight” , the “official” festival band. They went performed on the Sunday night and don’t even get a mention in the programme ! This was both Jimi Hendrix & Jim Morrison’s final UK performances. This was what you could buy at the festival as a souvenir…no photos from the 1970 festival but there are from the previous year when Dylan made his ‘comeback’.
