John Giorno (December 4, 1936 – October 11, 2019) : seminal New York Pop-art poet who also employed Gysin/Burroughs cut up technique to some of his work. He was was also known for his Warhol association : and was the subject of Warhol’s 1964 film Sleep.
Cover photograph by video art pioneer and conceptual artist Les Levine. BTW : As I had to explain numerous times to shop visitors : this is a mimeographed poetry book and not a Larry Clark style photo book….
If you’re unfamiliar with his work Suicide Sutra from his 1975 Lp (with Burroughs) might be worth checking out
